This procedure allows you to register the foreign company before the National Foreign Investment Registry (RNIE).

The registration procedure before the RNIE, can be submitted through the electronic platform, by email (inscripciones.rnie@economia.gob.mx) or in person in any representative office for the Ministry of Economy.

Cost: Free

The procedure is free; however, in case of extemporaneous filing, a fine between 30 and 100 Measure and Update Measures (UMA) must be paid.

You can submit your payment at authorized banks or else via electronic bank transfer of funds at certified credit institutions. For more information, click here.

Time frame

The authority has 10 business days to resolve. In the same period, you could make a request to the individual. In the event that the ten business days elapse without any request being made, the procedure will be considered to have been presented correctly.

  • All forms and annexes need to be duly presented and signed in PDF, electronic format at the location.

Via email:

  1. Subject matter of email, type of paperwork required, and name of required individuals. (in case of fiduciary institutions as per section three of the National Foreign Investment Registry and in compliance with article 32, subsection three of the Foreign Investment Law it is necessary to indicate name of trustee).
  2. Attach proper form for specific request, duly signed by legal representative or authorized private individual.
  3. Attach all annexed information regarding paperwork, duly signed by legal representative or authorized private individual.
